American Independence Festival

The American Independence Festival is hosted by the American Independence Museum. The festival takes place close to the date the original Dunlap Broadside Declaration of Independence was delivered to Exeter on July 16, 1776. The festival is full of re-enactments, traditional artisans, historic roleplayers, tours of the museum, and the museum’s collection of original founding documents are displayed. The festival takes place on the grounds of the museum and Swasey Parkway in downtown Exeter.
Exeter Brass Band Concerts begin June 29th
The Exeter Brass Band has been going strong for 167 years. The band brings traditional band music to the spectators who gather around the bandstand. The band performs 5 Monday night concerts each year.
Bring your bug spray and your lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars.
Exeter Farmers’ Market
Exeter Farmers’ Market – Thursdays on Swasey Parkway.
The outdoor summer markets are held weekly through October from 2:15 – 6:00pm. Exeter is the second largest summer market on New Hampshire’s Seacoast! Come and sample their ﬁne offerings, delight in the musical guests, and stroll by the beautiful Squamscott River.
