During the summers, make sure you catch the Monday night Brass band concerts at the Exeter Bandstand, the Outdoor Farmers’ Market on Thursday afternoons and the summer concert series Thursday nights on Swasey Parkway.  Autumn is a favorite time of the year for many, the days are warm and the nights are pleasantly cool.  Farms come alive during the fall celebrating and sharing their crops, many offering entertainment from hayrides and corn mazes to pumpkin carving and scarecrow-making.

Yearly celebrations include the Exeter Criterium, American Independence Festival, Stratham Fair, UFO Festival, Fall Festival, PowderKeg Beer & Chili Fest, Festival of Trees and Holiday Open House.

Exeter, one of the stops along the Amtrak Downeaster, is the perfect day trip destination.  Choose to stay a bit longer by checking in at one of the inns or hotels within walking distance of the train station and the historic town center.
