Spring is a great time in Exeter, with flowers blooming and the warmer weather makes for great walks along the Squamscott River and downtown. The Easter Egg Hunt on Swasey Parkway has been a fun tradition for many years in Exeter. May 1 brings the start of the summer Farmers’ Markets on Swasey Parkway and the Phillips Exeter Academy Crew team practicing on the river. Spring has indeed sprung!
American Independence Festival

The American Independence Festival is hosted by the American Independence Museum. The festival takes place close to the date the original Dunlap Broadside Declaration of Independence was delivered to Exeter on July 16, 1776. The festival is full of re-enactments, traditional artisans, historic roleplayers, tours of the museum, and the museum’s collection of original founding documents are displayed. The festival takes place on the grounds of the museum and Swasey Parkway in downtown Exeter.
Beer & Chili Festival

Come enjoy the 2014 Exeter Powder Keg Beer & Chili Festival on scenic Swasey Parkway in the heart of downtown Exeter.
Breweries and beer enthusiasts will gather on a fall afternoon for a sampling of fresh beers of all colors, styles and tastes. Vote for your favorite chili as local restaurants enter their house recipes in hopes of becoming the 3rd Annual Fan Favorite!
